A view looking down along the coalbrookdale Valley, which is already with industrial smoke, which is quite black from the chimney of one furnace. Buildings are dotted about the valley, and high on a small rise to the right is an important dwelling house. Woods surround the valley and run towards the foreground. To the left foreground a road runs sharply down towards Coalbrookdale and four horses are being led towards a loaded waggon. A small house lies just beyond.
