Animal Magnetism -Creative Writing Class- with Kate Innes How can we write convincingly and powerfully about animals – without sentimentalising them? How can we think our way into the lives of animals when our society is increasingly separated from the natural world? Writer Kate Innes leads five workshops that will explore these questions. With access to the natural history collections at the Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery, as well as the freedom of Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, course participants will have the opportunity to use creative writing to find the voices of animals and those that work with, and admire, them. Special guest, Jean Atkin, a writer who specialises in the natural world, will visit the group to share her work and provide prompts for taking our writing even deeper. £67 per person. Contact [email protected] to book a place on the course or telephone 01743 258881.
