If you would like to join an enthusiastic group to read a selection of Latin poems with the help of the tutor, then this short course is for you. There is no requirement to prepare for the class. Just come and enjoy the poetry, which will take an irreverent look at Roman society. This class is not for beginners. You may have studied Latin for about three years, perhaps to O level or GCSE, but it doesn’t matter how long ago! You will have a chance to brush up your skills. The classes are on Tuesdays from 9.45-11.15 a.m. on May 21st, June 18th and July 2nd at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery. Cost: £30 to include coffee or tea after the class. Your tutor, Margaret Thorpe, has had much experience teaching Latin and Classical subjects to adults in Shrewsbury.
