Weddings at Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery: Medieval Mansion is a Classic Venue for Your Wedding in the heart of Shrewsbury
The Medieval Vaughan’s mansion at Shrewsbury Museum offers a classic venue for weddings in the heart of the beautiful county of Shropshire.
Couples looking for a unique and special setting for their wedding can now get married in a 13th century mansion house within Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery.
Wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships can be held in Vaughan’s Mansion, which dates back to the 1290s and is recognised as the ‘jewel in the crown’ of the Museum & Art Gallery complex. A rare surviving example of an early medieval first-floor hall, Vaughan’s Mansion is the only one of its kind in the region and it is a building of national importance.
Vaughan’s Mansion has a maximum capacity of 50 people.
Following their wedding ceremony, couples and their guests have the opportunity to hold a drinks reception on the Museum balcony, which overlooks the main Shropshire Gallery in the former Music Hall auditorium.
For details of other areas of the Museum & Art Gallery including the Balcony and Special Exhibitions Gallery please get in touch. These would be suitable for 50-100 people but are subject to availability.
